Self-Ligating Braces for a Teenage Patient
At Leaside Orthodontic Centre, we recently treated a teenage patient who had a deep bite, dental crowding, and premature loss of primary teeth. His treatment plan was carefully designed to ensure optimal results while maintaining comfort and efficiency throughout the process.
To create enough space for proper tooth alignment, an upper fixed expander was placed before starting comprehensive orthodontic treatment. Additionally, a retained baby tooth was removed, and a surgical exposure was performed to guide an impacted permanent tooth into position.
For this patient, self-ligating braces were the ideal choice. These advanced braces reduce friction, allowing for more natural and efficient tooth movement with fewer in-office adjustments. Over the course of 29 months, his teeth gradually aligned, his deep bite was corrected, and his overall dental function improved.
